First Video of the New "Dan-M" Drone Being Used from a Mi-8 Helicopter Appears

The rotorcraft acts as a "mother" for UAVs

Footage of the Russian "Dan-M" drone being used from a Mi-8 helicopter has appeared online. The video shows that the helicopter acts as a "drone mother."

Instead of the usual unguided missiles for the Mi-8's arsenal, the machine was equipped with "Dan-M" drones. After rising to a certain height, the helicopter crew launches the drone, after which it goes on an independent flight.

Using helicopters as drone carriers allows maintaining a significant flight range of the product, while maintaining a relatively low cost of use, compared to launching from jet aircraft.
