Hero of Russia spoke about possible filming in lunar orbit

Cosmonaut and Hero of Russia Anton Shkaplerov has expressed his desire to participate in the sequel to the movie "The Challenge." The creators of the film informed him that filming could take place in lunar orbit. Shkaplerov noted that director Klim Shipenko also plans to fly with him.

The cosmonaut emphasized that interest in space projects is growing, and this reflects changes in society over the past two decades. He believes that such films inspire the younger generation and draw attention to space.

Currently, there is no official confirmation of the creation of a sequel to the movie "The Challenge." This film became the first feature film partially shot in space. In October 2021, Shkaplerov, Shipenko, and actress Yulia Peresild went to the International Space Station for filming. The premiere of "The Challenge". took place on April 12, 2023. The film grossed over 2 billion rubles at the box office with a budget of 905 million.

Thus, if the sequel to "The Challenge" is still filmed, it will be another step in the development of Russian space cinematography. Shkaplerov is ready to contribute to this project and hopes that it will be not only entertaining, but also educational.
