«Kama» company, which is developing the domestic electric car «Atom», is considering expanding the model line with a hybrid version and a hydrogen fuel option. This was announced by the head of the project's testing department, Filipp Dyakov, during a test drive of a pre-production prototype.
According to him, so far we are only talking about discussing the concept, without specific deadlines and technical solutions. Nevertheless, interest in alternative energy sources within the team is high, and such a development of the project is not excluded.
In the basic version, «Atom» is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 150 kW (204 hp), accelerates to 100 km/h in eight seconds and has a range of about 500 km. Fast charging at a 120 kW station allows you to replenish the energy supply for 100 km of run in 8.5 minutes. The battery charges up to 80–85% in about half an hour. Among the key features of the electric car are original swing doors, the absence of central body pillars, a display built into the steering wheel and a voice assistant based on neural networks.
The start of mass production of «Atom» is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025. The production of electric vehicles will be carried out at the facilities of the «Moskvich» car factory in Moscow.
