The Russian aviation industry has performed a real miracle and feat by reaching the stage of certification tests of the MC-21 aircraft in just three years. This was stated by aviation expert Roman Gusarov.
According to him, a colossal and very difficult job was carried out in Russia in three years, since the production of new systems and units required the creation of not only factories, but also equipment for these factories and the training of specialists.
Therefore, the fact that we have started the final stage of certification and testing of the import-substituted aircraft indicates that we are performing a feat, which descendants will appreciate later. At this stage, it is a miracle, because we are also creating a new industry.
Gusarov also expressed the opinion that plans to complete the tests in the summer of 2026 are more or less realistic. According to the expert, it is important that tests of individual units and systems that have already been successfully import-substituted are carried out in parallel with the aircraft tests.
Earlier www1.ru reported that MC-21 will cost airlines less than Western aircraft.
