Attackers are using the Unified State Exam (USE) theme to gain access to Russians' accounts on social networks, messengers, and banking applications. They call with an offer to find out the results first and ask to "register on a state platform," experts from the Solar Group of Companies reported in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
Attackers may contact graduates or their parents by phone on behalf of schools or government agencies with an offer to be the first to find out the results. All that is needed is to register on a certain "state platform" or report the code that will come via SMS. As a result, the victim will lose not only money, but also accounts on social networks, messengers, or banking applications.
The Solar Group of Companies noted that attackers often exploit the stress and naivety of schoolchildren during the Unified State Exam, which leads to negative consequences.
The organization reminded of another method of fraud aimed at schoolchildren during exams — the sale of "ready-made versions" of exam tickets for the Unified State Exam. Their cost may vary depending on the subject and range from several thousand to tens of thousands of rubles.
All offers related to the purchase of answers to the Unified State Exam are fraudulent. This is because the organizers of the Unified State Exam make significant efforts to ensure the security of exam materials, and the likelihood of leaks is reduced to zero. Exams can be retaken, but it will be more difficult to return lost money or social media accounts.
Experts advise not to disclose personal data to strangers. In particular, you should not follow suspicious links, as this may lead to the automatic installation of malicious programs that track user actions.
If the interlocutor begins to be persistent or threaten, you should end the conversation, call your parents, school, or the police.
