The National System for Counteracting DDoS Attacks (NSPA), developed by Roskomnadzor (RKN), has successfully repelled over 14,000 attacks on Russia since its creation in March 2024, according to the agency's press service.
The creation of the NSPA was a response to a significant increase in cyberattacks against Russia. According to RKN statistics, the number of DDoS attacks increased by 70% in 2024 compared to the previous year.
Currently, 7,704 resources from 969 organizations are connected to the protection system, including key state and commercial structures, telecommunications companies, financial institutions, and operators of critical information infrastructure.
The system was developed in record time-less than a year-based on the Center for Monitoring and Management of the Public Communication Network (TsMU SSOP), which is subordinate to Roskomnadzor. The NSPA provides comprehensive protection for the Russian Internet segment, using specialized technical means to counter cyber threats.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that regional companies are becoming targets for DDoS attacks.
