The first footage of theYak-52B2 light-engine drone fighter, armed with a shotgun, has appeared online. The developer explains the choice of a 12-gauge semi-automatic carbine as the main armament quite simply - legal requirements, the Telegram channel "Military Informant" noted.
The shotgun was initially proposed to have a civilian aircraft with civilian weapons within the framework of the implementation of the laws "On the Security of Fuel and Energy Complex Facilities" and "On Private Detective and Security Activities in the Russian Federation," which were amended to include the work of security companies against drones when protecting protected facilities.
However, the licensing authorities of the National Guard did not support the idea of using aviation to protect critical infrastructure facilities - they found it too complicated.
The installation of a Kalashnikov machine gun had to be abandoned due to the high probability of causing harm to third parties on the ground. Currently, the decision to arm with a shotgun is forced and temporary - there is no final decision yet.
