Igor Sirin, co-author of the YouTube channel "Battle of Motors," measured the thickness of the paintwork of the Lada Iskra SW Cross crossover station wagon on camera.
The camera lens captured a demonstration Iskra SW Cross at one of the dealers in Moscow. The device confirmed that the inner part of the sills and all external body parts are galvanized, with the exception of the roof panel. The paint thickness is comparable to Vesta.
On the hood, the thickness gauge showed values from 147 to 158 microns, on the doors and fenders - 123-135 microns, the inner surface of the sills - 55 microns, the roof - 112 microns, the trunk lid - within 130 microns. The values generally correspond to measurements for the pre-styling Lada Vesta, but the paintwork of the Granta is thinner.
The main advantage over Granta will be an almost completely galvanized body: in the current AvtoVAZ bestseller, only 25% of the elements are protected from corrosion - the sills and the power frame of the body.
