AvtoVAZ opposed the Lada monopoly in the taxi segment. A representative of the car plant, Sergei Gromak, stated that the requirements for the localization of taxis should be feasible, reasonable and provide taxi drivers with the opportunity to choose.
The Vice President of AvtoVAZ emphasized that the Lada brand monopoly in the taxi segment will only be harmful.
At the same time, Gromak agreed with the idea that taxis "should become an import-substituted industry." However, the law on the localization of taxis should only apply to newly purchased cars. Requirements for the level of localization are a subject of discussion.
AvtoVAZ stated that the accusations from carriers of inflated prices for Lada cars are absurd. The company emphasized that it is not the only supplier for passenger transportation in Russia.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ announced a discount of 300 thousand rubles on the new Lada Aura under one condition.
