One of the largest projects in recent decades has started at UAZ - the construction of a press line for the manufacture of body parts. Investments in the project exceed 1.1 billion rubles, of which 800 million were provided by the Industrial Development Fund. The line will produce components for promising models of the Sollers and UAZ brands, including a new frame SUV, the production of which will begin at the end of 2025.
The Sollers frame SUV will receive Russian-made power units: a gasoline or diesel engine with a capacity of 200 hp, an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The equipment will include an electric trunk drive, safety sensors and an electronic assistant system. Body, exterior and interior parts will be manufactured on a new press line, which will improve the accuracy and quality of assembly.
A separate conveyor will be built at the plant for the production of pickups and SUVs, which will begin operation by the summer of 2026. At the same time, existing facilities are being modernized: the UAZ "Hunter" body welding shop is being moved, the foundry is being reconstructed, and warehouses are being organized for new models.
