Russia has launched the development of a project to dispose of the sunken largest floating dock PD-50 in Russia in the Kola Bay. Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev visited the site and held a meeting dedicated to the organization of work.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Murmansk region, the leadership of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, Rosmorrechflot and other relevant departments.
The current situation in the Murmansk region with the sunken dock creates a number of problems. Now a project is being created to dispose of this floating dock, then we will begin work. The project will be large-scale and even unique, since similar-sized sunken objects have not yet been disposed of in our country. Nevertheless, we understand how to do it. We have design institutes that are ready to take on the work and then remove this object
On the night of October 30, 2018, an accident occurred during the exit from the dock of the aircraft-carrying cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov", which was under repair.
According to the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center, the cause was a sudden power outage. Initially, it was reported that the immersion was partial, but it later turned out that the PD-50 had completely gone under water. Due to the fall of the crane, the hull and deck of the "Admiral Kuznetsov" were damaged.
Currently, the "Admiral Kuznetsov" is under repair and modernization, after which its service life will be extended for 20 years. Initially, it was reported that the aircraft carrier would return to the Armed Forces in the first quarter of 2024.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the full configuration of weapons and protection of the T-90M "Proryv" tank became known.
