Su-57 design engineer dispelled speculations about reduced maneuverability of the fighter due to the flat nozzle

Aircraft's flight capabilities will be maintained

The new flat nozzle of the fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighter will not worsen its maneuvering characteristics. This was stated by the general designer of the combat aircraft, Mikhail Strelets.

According to him, the installation angle of the new nozzle is maintained with an axisymmetric nozzle, so all the possibilities for the aircraft's super-maneuverability are also maintained.

One of the main advantages of a flat nozzle is that it narrows the high-temperature jet, which reduces the aircraft's visibility. Among foreign fighters, only the American F-22 has flat nozzles. However, they only deflect in the vertical plane, and therefore our aircraft has more maneuvering capabilities.

Strelets added that the main thing in the Su-57 is not the new engines with a flat nozzle, but the onboard computer or the so-called "brains" with artificial intelligence, which the Sukhoi Design Bureau is "constantly upgrading."

Earlier www1.ru reported that the secrets of the design of the engine with a flat nozzle for the Su-57 fighter have become known.
