Компенсации за перебои: как операторы ответили на отключение мобильного интернета

Beeline and MTS – Rejection, Yota and MegaFon – Symbolic Amounts, T2 – Discount

Due to temporary restrictions on mobile internet in Russia on May 9, 2025, mobile operators offered various approaches to compensating subscribers.

Beeline and MTS believe that the disruptions are not their fault, so they do not offer compensation. MegaFon offered compensation of 50 rubles, Yota – 30 rubles, and T2 provides a discount on communication services for three months. However, according to media reports, the operators' technical support does not have a unified response algorithm and offers various solutions, which may cause confusion among subscribers.

Earlier, in 2017, during large-scale communication failures, MegaFon and Yota provided more significant compensation. MegaFon offered subscribers a choice of three options: 1 GB of traffic and 50 minutes of voice communication, 2 GB of traffic, or free viewing of a movie on "MegaFon.TV". Yota paid up to 20 million rubles in the form of discounts for the next billing period.

In the current situation, the compensations are more symbolic, which may be due to the fact that the restrictions were introduced at the initiative of state bodies in order to ensure security, and not due to technical failures of operators.
