Интернет на 9 мая не отключат полностью — перебои будут точечными

Operators warn of short-term disruptions in the capital and the Central Federal District

Temporary restrictions on mobile internet are possible in Russia on May 9, but this does not mean a complete shutdown throughout the country.

Earlier, the media reported that Roskomnadzor plans to block mobile internet for the first time in 60% of Russia, in particular in the entire European part of the country.

Restrictions in connection with the celebration of Victory Day were confirmed by the Moscow Mayor's office and the capital's government. According to them, disruptions in mobile communications and the Internet are related to ensuring the safety of mass events, including a military parade, and will affect a number of districts in Moscow and the Moscow region from May 7 to 9.

A number of operators have already warned users about possible disruptions. In some regions of central Russia, restrictions may be local and short-term. The reason for such measures was the need to reduce the risk of drone attacks, which, according to the authorities, can use mobile communications for navigation and coordination.

The press services of Moslift and Roskomnadzor denied information about massive failures in the operation of elevators and the complete shutdown of the Internet.

In conclusion: information about a large-scale shutdown of mobile internet throughout Russia is exaggerated. Official data confirm local measures in place during the holidays and aimed at increasing security.
