The Yaroslavl shipyard "Paritet" has won a contract to build an electric catamaran for the city of Cherepovets worth 535 million rubles. The vessel, which is 32.34 meters long, will be able to carry up to 130 passengers at a speed of 20 km/h. Its autonomy will be 8 hours of operation, and the total power of the power plant is 1.2 MW.
As reported in the materials of "EIS", the catamaran is intended for regular river transportation. The project should be implemented by December 31, 2026. A similar vessel is already successfully operating in Yaroslavl.
The head of Cherepovets, Vadim Germanov, previously announced the creation of the first river route in the city, which will connect three districts. It is also planned to build four berths.
