An electric vessel with an autonomous control system of the PKС-40.2 project ("Sura 2.0") will start carrying passengers in 2026. Its construction is currently underway at the Chkalovskaya shipyard. This was announced by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin.
"Sura 2.0" will be the first vessel in a series of five motor ships that will be built by order of the Gama tourist company. The exterior design of the motor ship was developed by the SEA TECH design studio.
"Sura 2.0" will be equipped with a hybrid electric propulsion system. It guarantees up to 20 hours of continuous operation.
For the first time, an autonomous control system will be installed on a passenger ship. The motor ship will be used for tourist transportation in the Nizhny Novgorod water area, and its launch is scheduled for September.
