The latest Russian medium-range airliner MC-21 has received a unique domestic power supply system. This was announced by the chief designer of the aircraft, Vitaly Naryshkin.
According to him, the aircraft and all its systems during the test flight performed remarkably, the pilots did not record any failures.
This aircraft is positioned as import-substituted, with PD-14 engines. It is important that we have replaced the most complex power supply system, on which the operation of all other aircraft systems depends. It differs from all other domestic aircraft and many Western ones, except for the very latest, in that it can reconfigure itself in case of any failures and perform self-diagnostics.
Naryshkin noted that all this makes it possible to be confident in the reliability of the aircraft, and in case of defects, to quickly eliminate the defect on the ground.
The system is new, no one in our country has ever made such a system before, it is built on computers and is half the size of the relay system in size and one and a half times in weight. It is important that all radio-electronic equipment was replaced on the aircraft, and it did not cause any comments during the flight. We are gradually making the aircraft completely Russian.
Earlier www1.ru reported that there was a huge queue for import-substituted MC-21s, the liners will have to wait.
