The Russian National Research Center "Zhukovsky Institute" has conducted the world's first tests of intelligent technologies for a supersonic civil aircraft. This was reported in the press service of the center.
A demonstrator of intelligent technologies implementing the "terminal to terminal" concept in a "closed cabin" (cabin without glazing) was tested in flight. The technology can be further used to create a promising supersonic civil aircraft
Experimental studies of the demonstrator were carried out on the basis of the Yak-40 flying laboratory by specialists from the State Research Institute of Aviation Systems and the Siberian Research Institute of Aviation named after S.A. Chaplygin (part of the NRC "Zhukovsky Institute").
The concept of "terminal to terminal" involves controlling the aircraft in a "closed cabin" using external vision systems based on cameras of various spectral ranges at all stages of flight. external vision. Specialists worked out the procedures for taxiing, acceleration, takeoff, climb, flight along the route, approach and landing with a run along the runway.
The work on technologies and solutions, which is carried out by the "NRC "Zhukovsky Institute", is important and necessary for shaping the appearance of a supersonic civil aircraft. As a result of successful tests of the "closed cabin", Russian specialists managed to obtain valuable data for further research and confirm the fundamental possibility of takeoff, landing and flight control of a supersonic civil aircraft in the absence of glazing.
The flight demonstrator included an external vision system (EVS), as well as innovative navigation and surveillance equipment. The external vision system includes five visible range cameras and two infrared range cameras.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec named the main tasks of the newest MS-21 aircraft.
