The Rosatom State Corporation spoke about the features of the NPP "Akkuyu". Its construction is currently underway in Turkey.

The IAEA and independent experts have confirmed that the station successfully survived a double earthquake in February 2023 with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6 without damage. The VVER-1200 reactor technology (used in the Akkuyu project) implements measures aimed at improving the safety of nuclear power plants.
The recent earthquake of magnitude 6.2 that occurred in the Sea of Marmara off the coast of Istanbul did not affect the construction site of the nuclear power plant.
