Two locations are being considered for the construction of a second nuclear power plant in Belarus: an additional unit at the Belarusian NPP in Ostrovets and a new nuclear power plant in the Mogilev region. This was announced by Alexey Polishchuk, Director of the Second Department of the CIS countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Belarus is interested in cooperating with Russia in the field of nuclear energy. The feasibility study for the new project will be prepared by mid-2025. A working group has already been formed.
These issues are also discussed in other formats, including regular meetings between the management of the Rosatom State Corporation and the Government of Belarus.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Alexander Lukashenko announced his desire to build another nuclear power plant in Belarus.
