Rector of MEPhI Shevchenko: We hope that science will help defeat incurable diseases

The State Corporation Rosatom and MEPhI have opened a bioprinting laboratory. Its employees will grow biocompatible equivalents of blood vessels from patient cells, the corporation's press service reported.

The central equipment of the laboratory is a biofabricator developed by Rosatom scientists. With its help, it is possible to simulate the processes of tissue cultivation at the micro level.

Shevchenko expressed hope that new methods will appear within the walls of the laboratory that will allow to defeat incurable diseases.
