The State Corporation Rosatom and MEPhI have opened a bioprinting laboratory. Its employees will grow biocompatible equivalents of blood vessels from patient cells, the corporation's press service reported.
The central equipment of the laboratory is a biofabricator developed by Rosatom scientists. With its help, it is possible to simulate the processes of tissue cultivation at the micro level.
All the fantastic progress of biomedicine and life sciences over the past decades is associated with the penetration of physical methods of research, diagnostics, and analysis into them – these are magnetic resonance imagers, lasers.
Shevchenko expressed hope that new methods will appear within the walls of the laboratory that will allow to defeat incurable diseases.
