Crews of Russian T-90M "Proryv" tanks are actively using the "Tucha" smoke screen system. This was reported by Uralvagonzavod (part of Rostec).

Smoke camouflage is actively used by crews of tanks and other combat vehicles in the combat zone. Including as a means of countering the latest threat – FPV drones.

The system is designed to create aerosol smoke screens to obscure areas of terrain for camouflage purposes.

The launcher is an 81-mm smooth-bore grenade launcher-mortar weighing 1.35 kg with a barrel length of 270 mm, equipped with an electric trigger, fixedly attached to the armored vehicle's hull. The total weight of the system of six mortars with mounts is 10.4 kg empty and 24.5 kg loaded.

81-mm smoke grenades 3D6, 3D6M and 3D17 with a length of 220 mm and a weight of 2.34 kg are used as ammunition.

The range of grenade launch is about 300 m. The beginning of intensive smoke generation is 10-20 seconds, the duration of intensive smoke generation is up to 2.5 minutes. The length of the opaque curtain of gray-black smoke is 30-45 m, the height of the curtain is about 8 m.
