Мошенники обзванивают россиян и предлагают бесплатно ускорить интернет

By following the instructions of a pseudo-manager, users risk installing malware on their devices that will gain access to their payment systems

Scammers are calling Russians, posing as telecom operators and providers, and offering free Internet acceleration. This was reported by the Department for Combating Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The scheme continues to be used when scammers call citizens on behalf of mobile operators or providers, ask about the quality of communication and offer to speed it up for free.

Law enforcement officers explained that, following the instructions received from a fake manager, people can install malicious software on their devices. After the user provides this software with access to their payment data, it will be able to use it.

Or, as happened with a resident of Nizhny Novgorod, turn on screen sharing and allow scammers to read authorization codes "live".

Earlier, the Central Bank warned Russians about a new fraudulent scheme: fraudsters create websites designed in the style of official colors and with the logo of the digital ruble. These attackers are trying to attract Russians to a non-existent investment program, promising passive income.
