Раскрыто предназначение «красных глаз» на башне танков Т-90М «Прорыв»

The "Shtora-1" system protects the crew of the combat vehicle from guided anti-tank missiles

In photographs of the Russian T-90M tank, you can often see square devices resembling car headlights. At the same time, their shape and location raise doubts that these are ordinary lighting devices.

In fact, we are talking about the OTShU-1-7 searchlight installation, which is part of a complex system called "Shtora-1". The complex is an element of active electro-optical protection of the tank, designed to counter guided anti-tank missiles.

The technology is also called an optoelectronic suppression complex or OEPK. Its main purpose is to confuse missiles that are guided to the target using semi-automatic or fully guided guidance systems.

The "Shtora-1" device is quite complex and includes several key components. These include sensors that detect laser radiation, a device for detecting missile launches, infrared spotlights, modulation, lighting and filtering units. In addition, the complex includes a smoke masking system with grenade launchers that launch special smoke ammunition.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the construction of the newest automated missile launch control center has been completed in Russia.
