Manufacturer of Topol-M and Iskander-M strategic missiles left without a new CNC machine

The arbitration court has included the supplier, Ural Machine Tool Company, in the register of unscrupulous suppliers

The manufacturer of intercontinental ballistic missiles, Votkinsk Plant, was unable to receive a new five-axis CNC milling center due to sanctions. This was reported by MashNews.

The company ensured that Ural Machine Tool Company, which promised to install the equipment, was included in the register of unscrupulous suppliers. The company claimed that the failure occurred because Votkinsk Plant was included in another sanctions package.

However, the company stated that Ural Machine Tool Company was to blame for the situation, as it requested a postponement of the equipment delivery date, and it was during this period that new sanctions were imposed on Votkinsk Plant.

On March 24, the Moscow Arbitration Court sided with the plant and confirmed that the inclusion of Ural Machine Tool Company in the register of unscrupulous suppliers was completely legal.

Votkinsk Plant and Ural Machine Tool Company concluded a contract for the supply of a machining center in May 2023. By that time, Votkinsk Plant was already under sanctions from several countries, however, the business partner expressed its intention to supply the equipment within 210 days.

In November 2023, Ural Machine Tool Company proposed shifting the delivery date to April 2024. The contractor explained the delay by the fact that the manufacturer extended the delivery date. It is not disclosed through which channels Ural Machine Tool Company intended to receive this equipment.

In December 2023, Ural Machine Tool Company requested an extension until the end of June 2024, and then offered to terminate the supply contract by agreement of the parties due to the "impossibility of supplying equipment due to the unfavorable foreign policy situation".
