The 2GIS team has introduced a significant update to its mobile applications on Android and iOS. Users can enjoy new features that make navigation more convenient.
One of the main innovations is the introduction of the "picture-in-picture" mode for Android. Now, while traveling or walking, users can open other applications, and the route will remain on the screen. To enable this feature, go to the 2GIS application, select "Settings", then "Navigator", and activate "Picture-in-Picture".
There is also good news for iOS users. The VoiceOver function has been updated, which now allows visually impaired users to view alternative routes. In addition, the Live Activity function has appeared on Apple Watch. Now, when you start a route in 2GIS, information about it will be displayed directly on the watch screen, allowing you to keep your phone in your pocket.
The update includes Live Activity widgets for public transport. Now you can follow your route directly from the lock screen or via Dynamic Island. The function is only available for iOS users (version 17+ on iPhone 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, and iPhone 15+).
