Vice-Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Vladislav Davankov shared his opinion about Aurus — the first luxury car produced in Russia. According to Davankov, the Russian Aurus cannot be compared with the German BMW.
He reported that in February 2025, all deputy chairmen of the State Duma began using Aurus cars.
Before that, I had a BMW — with a mileage of more than 400 thousand km. <…> It was repaired more often than it was driven! And then we were allocated Auruses. Luxurious cars! It’s especially nice that they are Russian. But… They are expensive.
He reported that everyone who discussed this issue in the State Duma shares the opinion that the transition to Russian-made cars does not pose a danger. Davankov noted that this decision will benefit both the population and domestic manufacturers.
The deputy also noted that the situation on the car market in China could serve as an example for Russia. In his opinion, Russia is able to successfully compete with foreign brands.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Libyan Embassy in Moscow purchased an Aurus Senat car. A representative car with diplomatic license plates was spotted on the streets of the city.
