The crew of the Novomoskovsk nuclear-powered strategic missile submarine (Project 667BDRM) of the Northern Fleet is preparing to go to sea. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In the central post of the submarine cruiser, the sailors conducted training in preparing the ship for battle and a voyage. The commander of the missile warhead assessed the readiness of the personnel to use missile weapons.
About project 667BDRM
The project was developed by engineers of the Rubin Design Bureau. The 667BDRM submarines are among the most reliable, they operate successfully in all latitudes of the World Ocean, including the Arctic. The submarines of the project were built at Sevmash.
The Northern Fleet is being replenished with submarines of the Borei and Borei-A projects to replace the missile cruisers, which the Northern Fleet has also successfully mastered.
The Novomoskovsk is armed with Sineva ballistic missiles. The submarine carries the IGLA MANPADS.
