Russia's submarine forces are developing, and the latest 885 Yasen-M project submarines with Tsirkon hypersonic missile systems are entering service. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Defense, Andrei Belousov.
The Minister congratulated the naval submariners on their professional holiday, which is celebrated on March 19.

Tsirkon is the world's first sea-based hypersonic cruise missile, its flight speed reaches 9 times the speed of sound, and it hits a target at a distance of more than 1000 km. In addition to equipping the 885M Yasen-M submarines, Tsirkons are also armed with modernized 949A Antey project submarines, 22350 project frigates, and the Admiral Nakhimov missile cruiser, which is undergoing modernization.
The 885 Yasen project submarines are a series of domestic fourth-generation multi-purpose submarines. The lead ship of the project, the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine, entered the fleet in 2014.
