The bottom section of a new dredger with a replaceable milling/rotary-bucket ripper of project 93.159A was laid down at the Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center (Astrakhan). This was reported by the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).
This is the fourth vessel out of six dredgers that are being built under a contract with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) for the benefit of Rosmorrechflot for operation on inland waterways.
The dredger is designed for dredging operations, development of silty, sandy and sandy-gravel soils, cleaning rivers and canals from siltation, laying canals and other hydraulic structures.
Technical characteristics of project 93.159A: overall length - 60.45 m, overall width - 12.3 m, draft - 1.5 m, board height at midship - 2.97 m, slurry pipeline diameter - 550 mm, autonomy - 14 days.
