"Yandex" has launched a new taxi service under the brand "Vezet", which will be positioned as a low-cost carrier. A trip in "Vezet" will be on average 20% cheaper than in the "Economy" tariff of "Yandex Taxi", although the waiting time may be longer.
The press service of "Yandex" explained that the difference in price between the services is due to a different approach to pricing. In "Vezet", the cost of trips during peak hours increases, but no more than 50% of the base rate, while in "Economy" the increase can be more significant.
Orders in "Vezet" will be carried out by the same drivers as in the "Economy" tariff.
"Yandex" acquired the assets of the company "Vezet", which managed the taxi ordering services "Vezet", "Taxi Saturn", Fasten and Red Taxi, back in 2021 for $178 million.
