Servicemen of the Airborne Forces conducted scheduled exercises on dropping cargo and jumping from Il-76 aircraft in the Pskov region. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Paratroopers with weapons and equipment made jumps from IL-76MD aircraft using D-10 parachutes from a height of 600 m and at an aircraft speed of more than 360 kilometers per hour.
The Il-76 is designed to transport equipment and cargo of various purposes. Depending on the modification, the aircraft is capable of delivering cargo with a maximum weight of 28-60 tons over a distance of 3600-4200 km at a cruising speed of 770-800 km/h. The Il-76 can carry up to 140 soldiers or 128 paratroopers.
