In January 2025, the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, now managed by AGR Automotive Group, significantly increased its production volume.
In the first month of the year, 21,000 cars were assembled, which is 1.5 times more than in the entire 2024, when 13,000 cars rolled off the assembly line. This increase in production was made possible thanks to the support of both regional and federal authorities.
It is planned that more than 110,000 cars will be produced at this plant in 2025. Industrial products worth 106.6 million rubles were shipped, and the industrial production index increased by 20.4% compared to January 2024.
In addition, the region is experiencing growth in other sectors of the economy: agricultural production has increased, and investment in fixed assets has increased by 4%, amounting to about 140 billion rubles. The average salary in the Kaluga region increased by 19.5% over the year and amounted to 72,215 rubles. The unemployment rate remained at a record low of 0.2%.
At the end of 2024, the Kaluga region ranked third among the regions of the Central Federal District in terms of industrial production indices and in terms of manufacturing output per capita. In 2025, the region will continue to develop and increase industrial production, which contributes to the stability of the economy.
