Threads of Death: Fiber Optic Kamikaze Drones Begin Flying at a Range of 20 km

The devices are practically invulnerable to all enemy electronic warfare systems

The fiber optic thread of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) allows such kamikaze drones to be used at a distance of up to 20 km, the Ministry of Defense reported.

The department noted that the fiber optic cable extends from a coil attached to the lower part of the strike drone to prevent contact with the propellers. Depending on the specific model, the thread length can reach 20 km.

Drones controlled via fiber-optic channel are practically invulnerable to enemy electronic warfare systems.

We perform a wide range of tasks using strike drones, starting with engaging enemy manpower, engaging buildings and structures in which they are located, and machine gun emplacements. We also actively destroy equipment, mainly using fiber optic FPV drones for this.
