The State Corporation "Rosatom" and the Shcherbinsky Elevator Plant (ShLZ) will manufacture 100 specialized elevators for wind power plants (WPP). They are designed for moving personnel and cargo inside WPPs. This was reported by the corporation's press service.
The elevator, which has no analogues in Russia, was developed by engineers at the Shcherbinsky plant. Its design is based on a rack and pinion transmission (a mechanical gear transmission that converts the rotational motion of a gear wheel into the translational motion of a rack or vice versa).
Unique equipment manufactured by ShLZ is another strategically important step in implementing the task of deepening localization in Russia.
Russia plans to introduce 3 GW of wind power capacity by 2030. The key advantage of WPPs is that the main investments are made during the construction of the plants, and the operating costs are low.
