The cruiser "Marshal Ustinov" will conduct exercises on anti-submarine sabotage defense

One of the largest ships of the Northern Fleet - the missile cruiser "Marshal Ustinov" of Project 1164, code "Atlant", has entered the Barents Sea to perform planned combat training tasks. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The crew of the warship will work out a number of single training events, in particular, the organization of anti-submarine sabotage defense at an unprotected roadstead with preventive grenade throwing, shooting at mines and anti-submarine sabotage defense.

Project 1164 missile cruisers were developed by the Northern Design Bureau of the USC. These are some of the largest ships of the Russian Navy, designed to destroy enemy surface ships, including aircraft carriers.

The main armament of the ship is 16 launchers of the "Vulcan" complex, two RBU-6000 rocket launchers, two five-tube torpedo tubes, an AK-130 artillery mount, two Osa-MA air defense systems, six AK-630 air defense systems, eight S-300 "Fort" air defense systems and a Ka-25RC helicopter.

Earlier www1.ru reported that a unique 7.62-mm Nikitin-Sokolov machine gun was spotted among Russian soldiers.
