The large landing ship (BDK) "Admiral Nevelskoy" of Project 775 of the Pacific Fleet conducted exercises on landing marines near the Klerka Peninsula in Peter the Great Bay. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
During the event, the ship's crew loaded equipment and military personnel of the Pacific Fleet marine unit into the BDK's tween decks.
Then, the ship with the marines on board went to sea, set course for the designated coastal area, and conducted artillery fire on the coastal positions of the mock enemy before landing.
The training involved about 10 pieces of equipment and over 100 military personnel of the Pacific Fleet marines.
BDK Project 775 (NATO codification — Ropucha, "toad") — a series of second-rank ships of the near and far sea zone, built in Poland for the USSR Navy. The ships are designed for landing troops, transferring troops and armored vehicles. BDK Project 775 are equipped with two 122-mm A-215 Grad-M MLRS.
