The car's interior was loaded with water tanks instead of people

Footage of the new Lada Iskra car being tested on public roads in Togliatti has appeared online.

During the tests, the car is being checked under load — plastic containers with water are installed in place of passengers.

Lada Iskra will be equipped with a 1.6-liter engine. Buyers will have a choice of two manual transmissions: a 5-speed from AvtoVAZ and a 6-speed from the Chinese manufacturer WLY. Top versions of the car with a CVT are also provided.

It was previously reported that NPP ITELMA, a manufacturer of automotive components, developed a new control and diagnostics system for electrical equipment for the Lada Iskra car assembly line, commissioned by AvtoVAZ.
