The Russian Navy (VMF) has developed a Supercam SX350 vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The tiltrotor can be used from the deck of a ship.
The SX350 is suitable for patrolling water areas and coastal zones, ensuring the safety of civilian vessels, ice reconnaissance, as well as for performing tasks in the interests of the Navy — targeting for warships, submarines and coastal missile systems.
Vertical take-off and landing, as well as long-duration high-speed horizontal flight of the SX350 allows for the inspection of hard-to-reach extended objects. The device can be controlled by one person, who can launch it from the surface in limited areas, including from the deck of a ship.
SX350 characteristics:
- Wingspan — 3.2 m
- Flight time — 2 h
- Speed — 70 - 120 km/h
- Radio link range — 100 km
- Video channel range — 70 km
- Max. flight range — at least 160 km
- Max. take-off weight — 16 kg
- Operating flight altitude — 150 ÷ 5 000 m
