Information about the certification of a new model of the Knewstar brand, which goes under the number G12, but will be called Knewstar 002 in sales, has appeared in the open database of Rosstandart.
Under this name, a slightly updated Geely Atlas will be released in Russia — similar to how Knewstar 001 turned out to be a copy of Geely Tugella with a modified front end.
The Knewstar brand was officially introduced to the Russian market in September 2024 as a replacement for the Geely brand. The first model was the Knewstar 001 crossover, which is actually a Geely Tugella with minor modifications. During the presentation, two more future novelties were announced: a D-class sedan and a C-segment crossover.
Judging by the teaser, the new Knewstar 002 resembles the current Geely Atlas in silhouette. Presumably, its appearance will be slightly changed, and the original Atlas will disappear from the Russian Geely lineup.
Knewstar 001 is offered in Russia in three trim levels. The crossover is equipped with a two-liter turbo engine, an eight-speed "automatic" and all-wheel drive. In the basic versions, the engine power is 200 hp, and in the top version — 238 hp. The cost of the model varies from 4,163,190 to 4,493,190 rubles.
