The idea of refining the modular Tor anti-aircraft missile system was prompted by the real combat experience of using the system. This was announced by Vyacheslav Dzirkan, Deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defense Concern for Foreign Economic Activity.
The idea of refining the modular version of the Tor was developed precisely because of real combat experience. When there was a need to protect small displacement ships not equipped with an air defense system, the option of using the Tor at sea was proposed.
According to Dzirkan, the Tor itself has proven itself well on the line of combat contact. The concern's engineers constantly receive feedback from the military about the use of the system.
The Tor SAM system is designed to cover the first echelons of ground formations from attacks by cruise and anti-radar missiles, gliding air bombs, helicopters, aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles, including those combined into a swarm. The latest version of the SAM system is the Tor-M2KM.
