Petersburg Tractor Plant (PTZ, part of the Kirovsky Zavod Group) will launch Kirovets Agrobot unmanned tractors into pilot operation in 2030. This was announced by Sergey Rostov, Head of Marketing Department of PTZ.
The Kirovets Agrobot tractor will not have a cab. Its operator will be able to remotely control the equipment by sending commands to the GSM module.
According to Rostov, the tractor will operate 24 hours a day. Thanks to the introduction of an unmanned vehicle, it is possible to reduce the need for personnel, the shortage of which is estimated at almost 200 thousand people, he added.
The goal is to minimize the number of people involved in controlling the machine and its operation. Therefore, the movement towards so-called "inhuman" technologies is objective.
PTZ plans to release a batch of 20 Kirovets Agrobot tractors. If farmers are interested in the machines, the production volume will be increased to 200 units per month.
