BMP-3 Still Hasn't Received "Relikt" Dynamic Protection

Footage of BMP-3 combat vehicle crew exercises has appeared online. Military analyst Evgeny Damantsev noted that the armored vehicles were not equipped with the Relikt or Cactus dynamic protection (DZ) kit.

According to him, the kits are capable of protecting the crew from a wide range of RPGs and anti-tank missiles, including AT-4, CS and Korsar in safe maneuvering angles up to +/- 70 degrees, as well as from 25-mm armor-piercing subcaliber projectiles M791 in safe maneuvering angles +/- 45-50 degrees.

During the exercises, the soldiers practiced firing 100-mm high-explosive fragmentation projectiles ZUOF-19-1 and ZOF70 "Vishnya" from low-impulse, low-ballistic guns 2A70 from closed firing positions at enemy objects 4000 m away.

They also practiced using a 30-mm automatic cannon 2A42 and a 100-mm cannon 2A70 with direct fire at targets at a distance of 500-700 m.

Tests of the "Relikt" DZ on the BMP-3 were carried out back in 2021. The complex consists of four types of containers, which are located on the side projection, frontal projection and on the turret. The main element of protection is indexed 4s-24 - it was tested for strength in a special chamber.
