A video of the destruction of a kamikaze drone using shrapnel bullets from a 12-gauge MR-155 semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by the Kalashnikov concern has gone viral. The footage shows a fighter destroying the drone, which lost altitude and exploded on impact with the ground.
The shotgun is equipped with a barrel with an 89 mm chamber, allowing the use of almost any 12-gauge ammunition, including those developed specifically for engaging low-flying drones of any purpose.
With the standard extension, the shotgun's magazine holds six 12/89 cartridges (+1 in the chamber). The MR-155's receiver in the anti-drone version is fitted with an adjustable-length folding stock with a pistol grip fire control from the AK-12 assault rifle, familiar to gun enthusiasts from the MR-155 "Tactics" experimental model.
MR-155 Specifications:
- Type — semi-automatic gas-operated
- Caliber — 12
- Chamber — 76 mm
- Barrel length — 750 mm
- Weight — 3.4 kg
