Extended-range EW system with five antennas developed for Russian tanks

Each of the system's antennas covers its own frequency range

To combat drones, an extended-range electronic warfare (EW) system has been installed on heavy armored vehicles of the Russian army since the end of 2024. This was announced by Major General Sergei Shalyony, Deputy Head of the Main Armored Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to him, each of the five antennas of the complex covers its own frequency range.

The system was developed in connection with the enemy's tendency to lower their drone control frequencies, now it will be even more difficult for him to escape the effects of our electronic warfare equipment.

At the same time, the general noted, it is necessary to improve their communication equipment so that the new complex does not "jam" them either. In this regard, the new tanks have switched to using sixth-generation radio stations.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the unique Sarych-2 reconnaissance drone with its own protection against electronic warfare and an HD camera has entered service with the military.
