Yuri Borisov could have been dismissed from the post of head of Roscosmos against the backdrop of uncertainties with the implementation of the National Space Center project in Moscow. This was reported by RBC.

The Vedomosti newspaper added that Borisov's possible resignation had been discussed since the fall of 2024, and candidates were being selected to replace him at the same time.
Yuri Borisov was dismissed from the post of head of the Roscosmos State Corporation on the morning of February 6; he had held this post since July 15, 2022. Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Bakanov became the new head of the state corporation.
