The Russian authorities are discussing the possibility of expanding the production of the Il-76 aircraft both for deliveries under military-technical cooperation and for domestic needs. This was announced by Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov within the framework of the national exhibition of civil aviation infrastructure NAIS.
The head of the department noted that this is a completely modernized machine. From the point of view of flight performance, it is better than international competitors, and from the point of view of price, it is cheaper.
And in fact, we are now discussing with colleagues in the government the possibility of expanding production capacity for the Il-76, both for domestic needs and for deliveries under military-technical cooperation, and for civilian lines, in cargo transportation this is one of the best machines.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the Il-76 has good export potential, and during international negotiations, requests for the supply of these aircraft often come from various countries.
The Il-76 is designed to transport equipment and cargo for various purposes. The aircraft is capable of delivering, depending on the modification, cargo with a maximum weight of 28-60 tons over a distance of 3600-4200 km with a cruising speed of 770-800 km/h.
