He'll Know Her From a Thousand: AI in St. Petersburg Taught to Detect Pneumonia With 94% Accuracy

Neural Network Will Speed Up Disease Diagnosis

St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (GUAP) has developed a neural network for diagnosing pneumonia based on X-ray images, the university's press service reported.

I managed to build 20 different models and compare many deep learning architectures to use them in working with X-ray images. This approach allowed me to identify the most effective solution, taking into account the features of medical images, which is rare in such studies.

The development automates the processing of large amounts of data, speeds up the diagnostic process, and reduces the likelihood of errors. The development has prospects for implementation in clinical practice.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that scientists created a medical assistant based on artificial intelligence AIRI.
