MTS summarized its performance for 2024. It turned out that 45.1% of all calls among subscribers were made using VoLTE and VoWiFi technologies.
The share of VoLTE traffic was 39.3%, and VoWiFi was 5.8%. The increasing popularity of these technologies is influenced by the modernization of the mobile network and the growth in the number of modern 4G devices.
VoLTE is most often used in the Moscow region (50%), Novosibirsk (47.3%), Omsk regions (47%), in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region (46.4%), as well as in the Tomsk region (46%). The Volga Federal District demonstrated the highest increase in VoLTE traffic — +12.5% per year.
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is a technology that allows you to make voice calls over a 4G LTE network. Thanks to VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi), you can make calls over Wi-Fi networks.
