Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have confirmed that the Novovoronezh NPP is a model of safety. This was reported by the press service of Rosenergoatom (part of the Rosatom state corporation).
The IAEA sent employees of the OSART (Operational Safety Review Team) mission to the Novovoronezh NPP to check the operational safety of power units No. 4 and No. 6.
A team of specialists from 7 countries checked 9 key areas of the station's operation. The result is full compliance with international standards.
Three power units of the Novovoronezh NPP have successfully passed the inspection.
About Novovoronezh NPP
The nuclear power plant is located 3.5 kilometers from Novovoronezh. It was put into operation in 1964. The NPP operates 4 power units, and 3 more have been shut down. In September 2008, it became part of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom".
